Done alot of improvements like adding compabilitymode which uses java in wine(user must enable this in the script by changing $compabilitymode = 0; to $compabilitymode = 1;)
It will work as a last resort You can also set your preferred java to use in the runescape script now too. values are "6-openjdk", "7-openjdk", "openjdk", "default-java", "/Path/To/Custom/java/binary/file/java" here is the changelog (full one included in the tar.gz download) ########## What's NEW!? ########## ################################## #### Version 1.5 #### * Added a variable at the top of the runescape file(line 38) that lets you choose the version of java you would prefer to use on linux. Thanks to Piece Maker from the runescape forums for confirming my suspicion about the openjdk7 regression. Choices available are: 6-openjdk, 7-openjdk, openjdk, default-java or a path to the java binary file default-java will make the client use the java located in $PATH or set by update-alternatives openjdk will make the script use the newest version of openjdk it will find 6-openjdk and 7-openjdk will force the client to use the openjdk version you set (either 6 or 7) A path to a java binary could be "/opt/java/jre1.6_29/jre/bin/java" (can be used to force client to use sun/oracle java) NOTE: you can change the default java for your unix system by running sudo update-alternatives --config java It is however not recommended to run the client in openjdk7 due to a regression in its OpenGL mode and Software mode (not sure if this affects windows users too) hello
by request i updated the client with the newest files from jagex. i have also made a small updater for fetching the newer windows clients and patch the Unix client with the newer jagexappletviewer.jar. So if you ever end up with a black message box when starting the client then try to run the updater to see if its a new version available. The new client is available from the same link as always http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11631899/opensource/Perl/unix-runescape-client.tar.gz Here are some screenshots of the updater in action :) http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/5066/selection048.png http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/6607/updaterunescapeclient04.png http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/9721/updaterunescapeclient05.png repkam09 suggested making an option for a custom install location.
I got the install to work but it refuses to write to the uninstall script to remove the symlinks in the bin folder it creates. It does write it in the local and systemwide install just not the custom one XD Once the update is done it will be used in all my projects that uses the uu-installer for installs like mslb and the runescape unix client. Got an email on the 2nd november about Softoxi.com updating the review on My Simple LogBook, however the email appeared in spam for some reason o.O
Anyway i am mentioning them here because they are one of the few sites reviewing MSLB, tests it, write a review by hand and emails me about the review. I just finished reading their review and i like the fact they dont copy and paste what i have written about the program and instead use their own words to describe it along with a video showing some of its key functions. I am expressing my thanks to them for such a great review, this is their short describtion of MSLB v2.7 Softoxi.com editor team: "Are you looking for a convenient way to write work logs or to keep diaries? My Simple LogBook is a great application designed just for that. This simple and intuitive piece of software will prove to be the quick and easy solution that you desired." Check out their review at: http://www.softoxi.com/my-simple-logbook.html PS: they gave MSLB a rating of 5 out of 5 stars! :D Since mac have gotten their own official runescape client while linux and other unix users still need to download the windows client and extract it and use a command in the shell to launch it using java, i figured out. HECK why dont i just make a client that works on all unix platforms that support java.
Big thanks to Ethoxyethaan on the official runescape forums for the first script shell script that my perl script is based on :) The result is the Runescape client for Linux and Unix. Supported operating systems: NOTE: the client can be run without installation on all of the systems listed(and not listed that falls under the unix group)
head over to the Runescape Client for Linux and Unix section for more info Fixes and improvements:
NOTE: google code does not have the mac version uploaded at time of writing due to upload problems i have Been messing around with the android portion of the mslb code and i am currently testing the package.
The fix will tell the application to use the "Roboto" font if it is available on the phone/tablet. If it is not available it will use the stock DroidSans font. If all goes well tomorrow i will upload the new package and source (v2.7). Good thing i use this application at work to write my logs when i am not at my pc :) PS: i will only support the stock and roboto fonts for android, if you are using a custom font(from "font installer" for example) i will not support that. Just tested MSLB on Android4.0 Ice Cream Sandwhich. The font is shown as []s due to google replacing the font in Android 4.0 with their own Roboto font.
Just wanted you all to know i am aware of the problem :) Sorry i havent posted anything in months but i have been busy and working on MUOnline maps. :P
Here are some images. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/3342/selection025h.png http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/359/selection027.png Version 0.2 is out and i fixed a small bug in uname.exe to get rid of an unwanted newline.
I also finished making xopen.exe to bind open/xdg-open to wine so you can open files, directories, urls and protocols in their default applications. |
